A Warrant of Fitness is more than just a sticker on your car. It shows that your car meets safety standards right here in New Zealand.

What do I need to know about a Warrant of Fitness?


Check that all your lights are working, not just your indicators. If you have any lights that are dim or not working come and visit us at KW Motors.

Check that you washers have enough water to spray your windscreen. If the washer container if low fill it up with water and then check to see if your wipers clean the water from your windscreen. If the water smears on the windscreen we can replace your wiper blades for you at KW Motors.

Pump up your tyres with air at the service station and turn your front wheels to one side to see if your tyres are worn. If they don’t look good to you bring your car down to KW Motors and we will let you know if your tyre are ok or need to be changed.

Click all your seat belts into the buckles to check that they hold and release. Also check if your seat belt have been chewed by your dog if you have one.

Before going away on any long trip or even driving around town check to see if your brake pedal is nice and firm and that there are no noises when you’re braking. If you feel anything wrong give us a call and we can advise you over the phone.


How much does a WOF cost?.
Cars, vans and utes $45 and trailers $30.

Do I need to book in for a WOF?.
All our WOF’s are done by appointment.

How long does a WOF take?.
30 to 40 minutes.

What are your earliest and latest ap-pointments for a WOF?.
Earliest 8:00 am and Latest 4:30 pm.

How long do I have to do the repairs to my car if I need repairs?.
You have 28 days.

Can I get a free quote for the repairs?.
Yes and there are no obligations.
